About Yoga Roses

Taught Courses
Sessions start with relaxation and pranayama (breathing technique), followed by vigorous practice involving sun salutations and dynamic flow yoga to build heat, and progressing to held asanas working specific muscle groups. Here the focus is on individual practice. Next we try out partner poses. This part of the session is a lot of fun and conducted in a workshop style. We conclude our practice with meditation, and deep relaxation, helped along with essential oils and cosy blankets.

There is a spiritual aspect to the practice which participants can choose to explore or not, depending on their reasons for taking up yoga in the first place, or for deepening an existing practice.

Yoga, according to Patanjali, is an eight-limbed practice with the physical making up only one limb. It is often represented by the lotus flower, mythologically associated in its turn with the rose. Yoga Roses takes the symbol of the rose, itself so multi-layered, to unfurl the many petals of Yoga.

Taught courses explore various aspects of yoga with a focus on different areas of the body week to week, building in a progressive way to an entire taught course.

Poses are modified where needed, meaning the courses are suitable for all abilities.

Taught courses are block booked in advance of the start date.
