Practice, Practice, Practice YOGA

Louise Willis (graduate of the Life Centre, London) has been practicing yoga for over twenty years and now teaches in and around Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire, occasionally hosting workshops. The Life Centre is internationally recognised as one of the best teacher training facilities currently available. Louise is also a qualified massage therapist and member of the British Wheel of Yoga . She continues to train and develop her own practice and is a committed and active memberof the wider yoga community.

There are three main methods of practicing with Louise. These are:

Classes are inclusive, non competitive and sequenced to incorporate a range of postures (asana) that will warm, balance, strengthen, tone and relax the body. There will always be a opportunity for relxatiion and assymilation of the practice itself at the end of each session.

One to One sessions are an opportunity to develop a personal practice, move away from a personal plateau with guidance or explore and deepen a specific aspect of practice.

Partnered Yoga is an offering for two students to work together with Louise, exploring partnered yoga techniques. Partnered yoga work is great fun and suitable for friends, couples or family members who wish to explore yoga together. Again, there will be an opportunity to deepen practice, learn new techniqures and also basic adjustments that will enable postures to be accessed with the aid of a human (partner) prop – including relaxation and breath awareness.

Finally, Yoga is a natural complement to most sporting activity and Louise has worked often with martial artists (in particlar) who enjoy the benefits of yoga to enhance their flexibility and core potential as well as endurance athletes who appreciate the opportunity to lengthen tired and tense muscle and deep tissue.

Many of Louise’s students are now training to become teachers themselves and she welcomes trainee teachers to join her classes – or those aspiring to train.
