Hi, I’m Laurence. An experienced Yoga instructor and Massage Therapist currently based in Sudbury, Suffolk & Norwich, Norfolk. I teach Hatha & Vinyasa Yoga, give guided Yoga Nidra Meditations, and offer Indian Yoga Massage treatments. My focus is on relaxation, understanding, and play.

I am very happy to be teaching in the Sudbury area once more. I came to yoga by chance, and it was a life changing experience for me. I immediately noticed that my body and mind felt lighter, like I had released some past emotional pain through simply stretching and breathing! That was in 2009, and I have never stopped practicing and exploring the potential that yoga has. It still amazes me every time I practice. Suffice to say my physical body has become stronger and more flexible and still continues to improve. I am more confident, and generally happier within my own skin and life. I want to share this with everyone. Whilst of course I cannot and would not guarantee that practicing Yoga will have the same results for everybody. I do believe that the tools that we have in yoga are very powerful. It is my passion and joy to share these tools so that everyone can have the same opportunity to make lasting positive changes in their life.

POWER YOGA

Dynamic flow based power yoga class. £7

Monday evenings, 7:30 – 8:45pm.

Old School Studio, Long Melford

This is a dynamic fast paced yoga practice where you will be encouraged to discover your limits by pushing your strength and flexibility to its max so that you can quickly progress in your practice. Only by challenging ourselves and pushing our boundaries can we improve. Classes will include flow based movements, challenging balancing postures, strength building exercises, traditional postures, and inversions such as Shoulderstand and Headstand.

Class Information:

The way that I teach is very fluid. I never make lesson plans as I like to see who is in the class and what their needs are and base the class around that. I am spontaneous and playful and never know what is coming from one moment to the next. I keep the structure of the classes the same as I believe that repetition is the quickest and easiest way to improve, though because I do not plan anything I cannot guarantee that the classes will always be the same. In any given class we will practice or cover some or all of the following techniques.

  • The structure of the classes will be the same every week as I believe that repetition is the quickest and easiest way to improve. There may be some small variations but typically we will practice or cover some or all of the following techniques.
    • Sun Salutation warm ups.
    • Standing & seated postures.
    • Challenging balancing postures.
    • Strength building exercises.
    • Inversions such as Headstand and Shoulderstand.

Important.

Please arrive early, especially for your first class as you will need to fill a medical/emergency contact form.

Bring some water.

Relaxation is done on the floor, please consider bringing a blanket to keep you warm.

If you have your own mat that you’d like to bring that’s great, if not don’t worry there are spares.
