Beautiful studio set in the woods, Karen’s classes are always relaxing, whilst also focused on contributing to an increased physical wellbeing.
Karen’s classes are not too large, so she can give individual attention to students. Karen has a lovely studio set in countryside
I have been attending Birch tree Yoga classes for the last 3 years. I used to live locally, I have now moved away but still attend, which I think speaks volumes about Karen and the studio.
I love my, rarely missed, weekly classes. The studio is set in an amazingly relaxing environment and the teacher, Karen, is calming and easily understood to both beginners and more experienced yogi’s.
I have taken visiting family members to classes to and they thoroughly enjoyed the sessions.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this Yoga Studio to anyone of any ability.
I started as a complete beginner with Karen 2 years ago and have enjoyed weekly classes since then – I wish I had time to go more often. I have found it to be of huge benefit to my physical fitness and flexibility – I have even managed to stand up on my surfboard again after struggling for a few years with stiffness in my hips and knees. I have also found it to be greatly beneficial in helping me deal with the stresses of my work as a hospital doctor. Karen has a very calming voice and usually ends the class with a thought provoking yoga message which brings one’s life back into perspective. Karen adapts each class appropriately to those attending, whether beginners or more experienced and takes care to demonstrate the moves and emphasises the need to take your body to it’s comfortable limit, but no further and acknowledges that one’s body may behave better on some days than others. She has a beautiful studio with on-site car parking and plays intoxicatingly calm background music. Karen’s classes are all that I could have wished for when starting out as a nervous beginner and although I can still only dream of getting my body into some of the positions that Karen demonstrates I take comfort in the fact that there has been a noticeable improvement in my physical and psychological well-being, to the extent that my wife has been so impressed that she has also started yoga and now goes twice a week!
I’ve been going to Karen’s yoga classes for over a year now and LOVE them! Karen’s a very experienced teacher and able to teach a class that covers beginners through to intermediate/advanced. They’re always different, with a theme that reflects the time of year and focus on a different part of the body.
Karen’s classes are held at her home in a purpose built yoga studio which are always a great temperature. Karen provides her own mats, blankets, eye pillows, straps etc. but you can take your own too if you like. Classes have no more than 12 people at any one time and if you go during the day (which I can’t very often) you get tea after too. She also holds workshops on weekends but if you want to get in to one of her classes best get on the waiting list!
I have been going to Birch Tree Yoga since it opened and would not hesitate to recommend it! The classes are great – always stimulating and challenging, but also relaxing and fun – and I always leave feeling energised and uplifted and that I have had a really good workout. The studio is lovely and it is so nice to go somewhere purpose built for yoga in the countryside rather than in a noisy gym. The peace and tranquillity of the setting outside adds to the ambience in. Quite frankly I could not survive without my twice weekly fix!
I’ve been going to Karen’s beautiful studio for a year or so now. I have attended classes elsewhere, but nowhere quite so serene and clearly focused on providing a perfect environment for yoga. Its quite possibly the most uplifting and relaxing 2 hours of my week!
Karen guides students through the physical and spiritual practice, encouraging each student to build steadily towards improving their own practice at their own pace. Now after a year, I am stronger, more flexible, even slightly thinner maybe, and I probably smile more than I once did!
