Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic, quite physically demanding and flowing practice, in which students follow a set series of yoga postures with a focus on the breath: sun salutations, standing poses, seated poses, and inversions. The practice aims to build heat in the body to help it to open, become more flexible and to release toxins. It will also help you to develop strength and stamina, and with the focus on breath and flowing movement it eventually starts to feel like a moving meditation, helping to focus and calm the mind.

Some previous experience of yoga is helpful and a reasonable level of fitness is required to join the class.

The class is taught in a welcoming, fun and accessible way.
