About Meditative Yoga Workshop with Sound

Yoga has many tools. In Haṭha Yoga group classes we find āsana, prāṇāyāma & dhyāna are the most common ones used. But others including mantra can also be effective and powerful in our practice of yoga. In this workshop we will be using Vedic chant and exploring how sound can have effects within the individual's constitution. The afternoon will focus in particular on energies which ground and strengthen us, enabling us to draw on our own inner potentials and resources.
It will be suitable for all who are new to chanting and taught according to traditional methods using Sanskrit. Students will have a transliterated version of the chant as a handout.
The meditative practice will incorporate āsana and prānāyāma, with the use of mantra here too.
Chairs will be provided in the Hall though please along your mats, blocks and bolsters if you require them.
The Hall is a recognised facility for group events and we will be working there in accordance with all the guidelines for safety under Covid-19 regulations. Free parking is available.
