About Yoga Nidra classes @ Wickham Wellness Studio

Yoga Nidra is not a physical practice. It is a deep relaxation guided meditation, which is blissfully nourishing and restorative for the mind and body. Yoga nidra or ‘yogic sleep’ is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, similar to the ‘going-to-sleep’ stage.

The intention is not necessarily to induce sleep but instead to prepare the body for sleep and/or restorative relaxation. In doing this the body’s internal systems and central nervous system are able to down-regulate, thus enabling the mind and body to recover from the stresses of our daily lives. This practice provides an opportunity to create space for stillness. You will then be guided through mediation to reach deep relaxation.

*classes will be held online via Zoom until government guidelines enable in-studio classes to resume.
