Kundalini Yoga is a yoga of awareness. Not just awareness of your environment, but most of all of oneself. What am I? What is my purpose? What is my relationship to my body, my breath, my experiences?
Kundalini Yoga promotes awaking the Kundalini Energy and Kundalini Rising. Kundalini Energy is stored at the bottom of the spine, as if in a coil, which is symbolised by a snake. Once the Kundalini Energy is awakened, it flows through the nadis: pingola and adi in a shape of eight around the spine all the way to the Tenth Gate. The energy is healing and usually awakens slowly while practising Kundalini Yoga. Once in a full blast, one can experience all kinds of phenomenal gifts.
To work properly Kundalini Energy requires a strong nervous system, otherwise it may cause a shock to the mind or physical aspect of the body.
Kundalini Yoga strengthens the nervous system, which allows the mind to stay stable and calm in stressful situation and even keep such situations away. The stamina that it created allows you to go with the flow regardless of the energetic and planetary speed in the environment.
