Mindful Yoga ~ this is a lovely friendly group to be found every Tuesday evening at Alton Maltings! I cover all aspects of yoga thoroughly, exploring breath work, postures and gentle but creative flows and meditation. This class is suitable for beginners and those with a little more experience in yoga.
Seasonal Yoga is inspired by ancient Chinese and Indian health systems and is a gentle practice specifically designed to send energy flowing through the meridian lines (energy pathways of the body). From a physical view point the practice re-vitalizes our systems and organs which have energies corresponding to different seasons of the year – putting the mind and body where it is supposed to be – in harmony with nature.
With the rising dependency many of us have have on fast pace technology we need to counter balance this with education of nature’s timings, rhythms and natural cycles.
We are a part of nature, so to continually work against these natural rhythms can create both stress, disease or indicate we are out of balance.
The ancient Chinese people believed in working with the cycles of nature – each of our organs, senses and systems also resonate with certain seasonal energies.
Practicing Seasonal Yoga on a regular basis improves flexibility, balance and physical strength. It helps people to control and manage their own energy levels and also improves physical and mental awareness.
