Relaxation is the antidote to stress…..

Being able to truly relax and do nothing and settle the mind is a skill.  Just like exercise for the body, if you don’t practice it will not get any easier.  Everyone’s mind is busy – but everyone can learn to slow down the chatter and find some quiet and calm.

There are different practices which help change the brain and the nervous system overtime.  This allows the body to deal with more stress before triggering fight or flight responses in the body.  Many of us live in a state of chronic stress, where the body is in a stress response a lot of the time.  This leads to ill health, like regular colds and infections, headaches, poor sleep, stomach complaints.

We will vary week to week between yoga nidra relaxation, breathing practices, seated meditation and restorative yoga which uses supports and props to invite the body to fully relax.
