Start the weekend feeling energised with a new Saturday morning dynamic yoga class at Butleigh Pavillion, near Glastonbury. The class is from 9.00 to 10.20.
This is a powerful, energetic style of yoga that links sequences of poses, the breath and the mind in a moving meditation. The class is suitable for all levels including beginners as modifications can be made depending on your level of fitness and yoga practice. It will improve flexibility, strength, balance and stamina plus calm the mind, heighten focus and concentration.
The class is influenced by Iyengar Yoga for alignment and posturing, Sivananda Yoga for subtle mind and breath work and Ashtanga Yoga for heat, flexibility and stamina. It is also informed by anatomy and you will learn about the benefits of poses and sequences.
The class is taught by Carolyn who is a yoga teacher and experienced, registered mental health professional with a special interest in yoga for emotional wellbeing and mental health.
This class will be kept small with a maximum of 12 people so that individual attention can be given throughout the class. Booking is essential.
Butleigh Pavilion is close to Glastonbury and Street with on-site free parking. There will be opportunities to take the class outside onto a large peaceful, grassy playing field, and breathe in the clean country air, when the weather is good.
