Vinyasa flow asana, breathing techniques and mindfulness 6-week introductory class.
Learn how to link movement and breathing together to stretch, tone and strengthen your body and mind.
Each week we will work on a group of yoga postures that link together, so that over the 6 weeks you learn how to build a home practice specifically for you and your lifestyle. We will discuss how postures can be used to ease and heal skeletal and muscular problems through yoga’s unique blend of mindful, breath-controlled movement.
Together with the postures, we will learn a specific meditation, breathing technique (pranayama) and yoga nidra practice each session that will teach you how to use your breath to change your mood, energy levels and to channel your thinking.
These techniques, if practiced over time, will affect your neurological functioning by stimulating feel-good neurotransmitters such as GABA, serotonin and dopamine and lowering levels of stress-producing neurotransmitters such as norepinephrine.
By combining the ancient tradition of yoga with modern-day science you will gain the tools to reduce anxiety, stress, depression, inflammation and sleeplessness, whilst boosting your mood and energy levels. Your decision-making and problem-solving skills will increase.
You will be stronger, more flexible, more comfortable in your body and calmer, clearer and more positive and focussed in your mind.
This Yoga course is suitable for beginners and yogis with some experience, who wish to experience the power of harnessing movement and breath combined.
