These classes will be focussing on teaching the basics of yoga to teens, which will support them in their future yoga practice, as well as giving them practical tools to support them in their everyday life. It is an open and safe environment, where questions and curiosity are encouraged and every class is like a mini-workshop really looking at what it is the students will benefit from. It is a slow-paced flow class with a playful element and aims to empower students to explore movement, always with a strong focus on alignment and safe practice.
This class does count as one of the activities to do for your Duke of Edinburgh Award and I had several students doing this class as part of their DofEA.
Here are a few quotes from my previous teens who have come regularly to class.
‘I have been using the breathing techniques you showed me before my last test and it really helped me calm my nerves.’ (Gooseberry Bush Student)
‘After yoga, I feel a lot more calm. I am always looking forward to this class at the end of the school day.’ (Student attending a School in Hammersmith)
‘I like attending the Teen Yoga class as it gives me a chance to relax from studying for my exams. I also like learning techniques that I can practice away from the class if I am feeling anxious.’ Gemma P.
