About Water’s Edge Yoga

I teach Kundalini yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. This is also known as the yoga of awareness and is the yoga of the mind, body and spirit.

The class will suit all levels of fitness and ability. However I will encourage you to push yourself to get the best out of a particular exercise, but if you feel the need to stop, please do so and ‘keep in the breath’. If you have a health problem I would suggest that you consult your doctor before beginning a class.

A normal session will include breathing exercises (pranayama); groups of exercises to target specific muscles (Kriyas); hand movements (mudras), chants with a specific focus (mantra) and a meditation which can be either active or still in nature. You do not have to have any particular belief system, however I would encourage you to have an open mind.

You will need to bring with you a mat/sheepskin to sit on; a cushion; a blanket and water. Wear clothing that allows you to move easily. Normally we wear light coloured clothing
