In more recent years the western world has begun to be understand that yoga is more than positioning your body into a pretzel shape.
What is yoga really all about then?
I believe that yoga is about stilling the mind through movement of the body.
When the mind is still, we can see clearly...from the eyes behind the physical eyes. And we begin to awaken to what truly moves the body and mind.
Once we connect with our very essence... breath of spirit... breath of life, then we are practising yoga. Be it chopping vegetables or reading our children a bedtime story.
Through yoga we learn self-acceptance, self-respect, self-LOVE. And that is the answer! We start to feel good; we feel GREAT. We feel GREAT-ful...it is easy to feel tremendous GRATITUDE. Once we are experiencing gratitude, every single cell in our body begins to heal. We become healed, healthy, whole, ONE.
If we were all truly loving ourselves on a daily basis, the world would not be in such turmoil.
The balance would be restored for us all, including Mother Earth and each spirit that is having this human experience of life.
