What to expect: 

The styles of Yoga I teach are Yin & Yang and a Mindful Hatha-Flow. The classes focus on building stability, energy, mind + body connection and with a fun-loving feel.

My teachings are very much from the heart and I endeavor to offer classes which stay true to their Indian roots: posture, breath and meditation. I aim to provide classes which are authentic and harmonious as possible.  Yoga can help you to be present, relaxed and calms your mind.

About me:

I first tried Yoga 16 years ago after hearing about the benefits of breath regulation and increased wellbeing after trying to manage bouts of anxiety. I found that Yoga quickly became a big part of my life and contributed to my health and wellbeing. I started to explore many different styles ranging from Sivananda, Ashtanga, Hatha, Yin & Yang, Vinyasa to Restorative Yoga which deepened my love for the practice even more!

In 2012 I completed a foundational Yoga course in Cambridge and then completed my Yoga Teacher Training with Simon Low at The Yoga Academy in 2015.

I have trained up to a total of 292 hours with The Yoga Academy and 20 hours with The Trauma Clinic for Trauma Sensitive Yoga and I am fully insured under Yoga Alliance UK.

My current classes are:

ॐ - Wednesday's 6-7pm: Hatha Flow class - Online via Zoom

'Prayatna saitilya ananta samapattibhyam' ~ The key in this regard is practice with effort, which becomes progressively easier, combined with deep contemplation.

..are excellent! I’ve been going for 6 months now and I fully recommend the class to anyone of any physical disposition.

As a middle-aged male, I really benefit from the class, but the highlight for me is that the class is delivered in such a friendly, warm way and Melanie’s love for yoga is clear for all to see.

I totally love Mel’s classes. She radiates calm, which is just what I need after a busy day! She delivers a great class and it’s suitable for everyone, so go along – I’m sure you’ll love the classes as much as I do.
