Congleton Iyengar Yoga Centre is run by Christina Niewola who has been practicing Iyengar Yoga since 1977 and teaching Iyengar Yoga for over 30 years.
Christina regularly attends Iyengar Yoga workshops, seminars and intensive Iyengar Yoga courses in the UK and abroad, including BKS Iyengar's institute in Pune, India, the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI) to develop her own practice and understanding of Iyengar Yoga. Christina qualified to teach Senior Intermediate level 3 Iyengar Yoga in 2007. She also regularly teaches at the Manchester and District Institute of Iyengar Yoga (MDIIY).
Christina is an approved Iyengar Yoga teacher trainer and began training Iyengar Yoga introductory level teachers in 2009. She is also an assessor for the Iyengar Yoga Association of the UK - IYA (UK).
The Centre has a spacious ground floor yoga studio (80 square metres) and changing room. All the standard equipment is provided as well as ropes, back benders and a tressler. The use of supports or 'props', where necessary, allows students to progress in their practice of postures safely at their own pace, to suit their body.
