These are creative classes which can based on a particular theme, such as a specific part of the anatomy (e.g. hips) or an idea/intention. Vinyasa Flow classes are a great way to incorporate fitness and insight into your day, and are suitable for all levels. Modifications for more advanced poses will always be provided. The class will finish with Savasana (relaxation) at the end.
Power Vinyasa is designed to build strength and flexibility in the practitioner, while maintaining the integrity of the yogic lineage. Expect to cultivate tapas (internal heat) and challenge yourself, while focusing on the breath as a moving meditation. Modifications for more advanced poses are always provided, and the class will end with Savasana (relaxation).
Yin Yoga takes the focus away from the muscles and into the connective tissue or fascia to create more space in the body. Warming up the body with the â€˜Yangâ€™ aspect, the class will then sink into stillness. Yin is designed to complement an existing yoga/athletic practice or as a sole pursuit and, although it is slower paced it will nonetheless benefit body and mind.
I specialise in teaching private yoga classes in the Edinburgh and Lothians region. I believe that everybody needs individualised attention in their yoga practice, and these sessions are so rewarding both on and off the mat. Private yoga classes are suitable for everyone; from those with physical limitations, or complete beginners who may not be comfortable in a group class, to advanced students who want to expand on their practice. They are also aimed towards those with an irregular work schedule who cannot commit to a regular group class.

Classes will normally last 1 hour in a centrally-located studio, and will end with an extended relaxation (savasana), where props and blankets will be used to maximise comfort. I will tailor the class to be as energetic or as restorative as you wish.
Private classes can be purchased as single sessions, or you can buy blocks at a discounted rate. You can choose whether to share the time with a friend or family member, where prices will vary depending on how many students wish to practice, but will be more cost-effective for the individual. This is a great option for those who may lack the confidence or are unable to attend a group class, but will be comfortable in the presence of those they know well.
