My name is Rebecca Allen and I teach weekly small group classes in our attic yoga studio in Stainton Road, Sheffield, S11. I offer classes for people of all ages and with a variety of needs.
There are general yoga classes at all levels and classes for pregnant and postnatal women and Sunday morning workshops for Mums with children at home. Some of the classes are extra gentle yoga for people living with cancer or ME/CFS, or for those who are less physically able but still want to progress with their yoga practice.
I also run monthly Sunday morning workshops for women with babies or children at home, and I can provide 1:1 classes and workshops around and about.
The yoga I teach is a traditional style of Classical Hatha Yoga. The classes all include asana (postures or stretches), pranayama (breathing practices), and yoga nidra (deep relaxation). As classes progress mudras (gestures), bandhas (locks) and meditation techniques are introduced. I qualified in 2000 with The Bihar School of Yoga (Satyananda Yoga) and the British Wheel. I also have further specialist training for teaching antenatal and postnatal yoga and for teaching people with ME and people living with cancer.
Whether you have never done yoga before or are already very experienced, whether you are already fit and active or need an extra gentle class for now, please contact me to discuss your needs. If I don’t have an available space that suits your needs I will do my best to direct you to another teacher in Sheffield who can.
