Nes shares a holistic practice, inclusive not only of asana (movement/forms) but of other areas of yoga, such as meditation, mantra/sound, yogic mindfulness and pranayama (breathing techniques), which can help to address the needs of the individual: physical, psychological and emotional. The focus is on body, breath and mind, using the breath to help focus and steady the mind as well as to support the body.

People come to yoga for a variety of reasons as it can be helpful in many ways- for the body and mind. Nes sees her role as a yoga teacher to be to facilitate the use of yogic tools in a way that best suits each individual to make the lives of her students better.

Nes was first introduced to yoga with her wonderful teacher Jane Craggs, who shares an authentic practice inspired by her teachers the Mohans. Much of Nes’ yoga teacher training was guided by Jane. Now Nes is also a yoga therapy student of Dr Ganesh Mohan and has attended Yogic Mindfulness training and Yoga Sutra course with AG and Indra Mohan.

Nes trained in restorative yoga with Judith Lasater and is a certified Relax and Renew® teacher and believes in the healing power of restorative yoga which promotes deep rest and relaxation, something we all need!

Nes is a certified and experienced Yoga Teacher, Relax and Renew® teacher, Mountain Leader, Forest Schools Leader (L3) and Primary School Teacher. She has undertaken training in Yogic Mindfulness with A.G. and Indra Mohan, Chair Yoga for MS,COPD, Breathlessness and age related problems with Gill Ansty, Yoga, Food & Body Image Intensive Training with Chelsea Roff, Yoga and Mindfulness for Children Teacher Training as well as Emergency First Aid. In addition, Nes continues her Yoga Therapy training with Ganesh Mohan and Somatic Trauma Therapy training with Babette Rothschild.

Nes loves to learn and believes CPD to be invaluable to offering her students as much as possible.

Working in the voluntary and education sectors for over 15 years, Nes has experience of working with people from various backgrounds, including women’s groups, young people with behavioural issues, people with physical disabilities, children and adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities and people of all ages with anxiety and mental health issues. She is passionate about helping to create an inclusive and individual practice, enabling everyone to enjoy the benefits of yoga no matter their body shape, gender, age or physical abilities.

As a qualified and experienced Mountain Leader, Level 3 Forest School Practitioner, Primary School Teacher with QTS, BA(Hons) Youth and Community Work, John Muir Award Leader, First Aider, Nes enjoys combining these areas with yoga and mindfulness in a holistic way to offer a varied experience that further develops connection, resilience and relaxation.

In her spare time she enjoys mountain walking, climbing, cycling, surfing and open water swimming. Nes has found that yoga has improved her enjoyment of all these activities by giving added strength, body awareness, flexibility and the ability to release tension and find calm even in stressful/ fearful situations!
