I teach Dru Yoga, which is a graceful yet powerful style of yoga, accessible to everyone, whatever their level of fitness.
Unique to Dru are flowing sequences called Energy Block Release sequences (EBRs). These sequence of movements, combined with breathing techniques and powerful affirmations move the spine in all its six directions and release stress and tensions from the muscles, joints and organs of the body.
Research published in the Journal of Occupational Medicine has shown Dru Yoga can help improve mood, increase resilience in the workplace and can also reduce back pain.
Kath has a special interest in the therapeutic benefits of yoga, and always gives modifications for postures so everyone can join in!
A typical class usually includes:
- activation (warm-up movements)
- an EBR sequence
- classical yoga postures, often in a flowing style
- guided relaxation
