Kundalini Yoga works directly on the total energy and you
will learn to work with your own energy body and experience it.
Also called the Yoga of Awareness by Yogi Bhajan, Kundalini Yoga teaches techniques to stay healthy and live from the neutral, meditative mind. One gains a strong immune system, vital glands, a strong nervous system, good circulation and an awareness of the impact of ones habits in daily life with a healthy body.
Kundalini Yoga is known as the Raj Yoga, encompassing all eight limbs of yoga of Patanjali into one singular practice.
“Kundalini†literally means “the curl of the lock of hair of the beloved.â€
It is through the practice of Kundalini Yoga that we begin to unlock the latent energy coiled in the base of the spine.
Classes consist of sets of postures or ‘Kriyas'.
Each Kriya will have a particular focus and may consist of anywhere between 1 and 20 postures.
Each class and meditation will work on many subtle levels in the body. The effects are very powerful and changes can be felt by practicing postures for as little as a few minutes.
A class will normally consist of warm up exercises, breath work, a set of postures, relaxation and meditation.
Mantra is often used during the practice. This focuses the mind and its vibrations resonate deeply within the body helping to unblock stored emotion and strengthen the circulation of energy through the body.
No previous experience of yoga is necessary for a person to achieve the best results in their very first class of Kundalini Yoga.
