About The Daisy Foundation Birthing Cullompton and Tiverton
The classes are active birth classes that are suitable for all mums,
no matter which stage of pregnancy they are, whether it is their first
or fourth baby. natural birth or c-section, hospital or home birth.
The classes run in terms of 6 weeks and are £54 for the whole term.
The central aim of the classes are to help mums have positive births
and feel confident. It is very much a group movement based class
rather than a sat down passive class where the teacher just talks.
The first part of the lesson tackles birth by addressing balance,
gravity and emotional state and our classes are suitable for home,
hospital or birthing unit births. Our movements are suitable for all mums (even those suffering from SPD) and help stretch the psoas muscle which you use during labour, help move the baby into a better position (this can be useful if the baby goes back to back or breech), help with Lymph drainage (this can reduce swollen ankles and carpal tunnel) and teach you how to use your body
to move and gravity to ease the pain in labour. There is also an
educational segment in each lesson and practical ideas for labour are
given, including best positions and the different types of breath to
use. The final part is the relaxing section in which you spend time
relaxing and enjoying a moment with your baby while reinforcing
positive messages about the birth. In a nutshell – Learn to relax,
learn to breath, understand birth and most importantly feel confident!
