Labour of Love offers a variety of pregnancy yoga and postnatal classes.
The pregnancy yoga & relaxation classes are a wonderful way to look after yourself during pregnancy helping you to improve well-being during pregnancy; relieve backache; create balance in the pelvis; stretch and strengthen your body; prepare your body for birth; help position baby well for labour and birth; develop awareness of your breath to help you in labour; release tension; bond with your unborn baby; make new friends and enjoy some time out to 'be' pregnant.
Classes are suitable from 14 weeks and are on weekly
The postnatal classes encourage meaningful interaction, play and bonding with your baby and are a great way to meet other new mums.
Classes include -
Baby massage - simple massage strokes to help soothe and comfort your baby and support their growing body. This is done with the baby fully clothed.
Gentle yoga based postnatal exercises - to restore strength and tone to your body and help relieve aches and tension. The postures can be done either with your baby or with baby close to you.
Relaxation and breathing - for well being and a sense of calm
Breastfeeding / feeding and general parenting support - a supportive and friendly atmosphere where you can talk about any concerns.
Age guide for babies 6 weeks to crawling. Classes are in 4 week blocks during term times
