BodyBalance blends new yoga, tai chi, Pilates and guided relaxation and meditation with an inspiring soundtrack. If you haven’t tried yoga before then BodyBalance is a great introduction. If you’re already doing some form of yoga you’ll love the variety you get with BodyBalance.

Benefits include improved mobility, increased core strength and reduced stress levels. Controlled breathing, concentration and a carefully structured series of stretches, moves and poses create a holistic workout that brings your body into a state of harmony and balance. The class is suitable throughout pregnancy and specific adaptations will be provided as required.

This is the official Les Mills programme that is taught in many gyms and health clubs around the world and is the only class of its kind in Christchurch. In our live classes we include the full 50 minutes of exercises and follow these with 20 minutes of relaxation and meditation where you’ll focus your mind and create a lasting sense of wellbeing and calm.

Our expert instructors have many years of experience and a wealth of specialist biomechanics knowledge, and the classes have a relaxed and friendly vibe. We allow a little more time than just the standard 45 minutes or one hour you get at the gym so you never feel rushed and have time to enjoy the amazing energy and light of our beautiful venue.

We also offer 60-minute and 45-minute livestream classes. Please see our website for full details of our current schedule.

This class provides the exact mind and body experience described in the summary. Following a full knee replacement, I have a limited range of movement in my legs. Hannah and Sam encourage each individual member of the class, providing personalised and achievable progressive alternatives to the routines so that everyone may enjoy the class. My general flexibility has greatly improved, and the relaxation/meditation period at the end of class engenders an all-round sense of well-being. The other members of the class are friendly and encouraging, and I would wholeheartedly recommend that you give BB a try!.

Location Information

St Joseph's is located half way along Purewell next door to Priory Veterinary Hospital. There is free parking onsite.

The classes take place in the Parish Centre hall which is at the back of the car park.
