About Yoga Berry

From the 16th of May I will be offering Hatha Vinyasa Yoga classes from my home in Battle, East Sussex. With a maximum of 5 students per class, I am able to focus on your individual needs, and tailor my classes accordingly. Each class will have a specific theme, these will include (but not be limited to) ‘Digestion’, ‘Core’, ‘Fat Loss’, ‘Relaxation’, ‘Arm strength’, ‘Energy’ and ‘Deep stretching.’

I undertook my Yoga Alliance certified teacher training at Ayur Yoga Eco Ashram in Mysore, India. Since finalising my course, I have been teaching private clients and am now happy to open this up to small group classes. I do still offer one-to-one classes.

During my teacher training I learnt about the immense power of Hatha Yoga. I now want to impart the wisdom I learnt at the Ashram to others. I will teach you from the heart, empowering you to attain a harmonious, strong and vibrant mind and body.

On a physical level, Hatha Yoga was created for the purification of the body. It balances the nervous and endocrine systems, which directly improves the health of the other systems and organs in the body.

Mentally and emotionally, it is a way to attain freedom from the bondage of the world we live in. When the body is still and steady in a posture, the mind can likewise become calm and clear, enabling us to better cope with the challenges of modern-day life. Additionally, in yoga postures, we are able to practice and become accustomed to focusing on Breath, Relaxation and Awareness – the 3 jewels necessary for a successful practice, and consequently a happy and healthy life.

Hatha Yoga can be defined as a “meditation on the body” – a way to realize our true Higher selves, beyond the Ego (lower self) and thus separate ourselves from the mind and body. Ultimately, this is the purpose of yoga. It is “the path of Self-Realization.”

I believe that yoga classes should always be sequenced in a creative, fun and unique way. No class will be the same!
