My classes involve working with movements of body and breath with periods of rest. I run weekly classes and teach on one to one basis in Brentwood, Essex.
Yoga should be a harmonious, centring and grounding experience, not a struggle. Our practice is beyond making shapes even though it very much looks like that most of the time. We release and unwind, un-doing what is in the way of natural movement of the body and the breath rather than forcing to get into a certain shape. When we take away the notion of constructing shapes, we begin to notice a sense of wholeness which translates into a quality of being, instead of the quantity of doing. Yoga deals with our totality, guiding us towards that sense of wholeness and integration with ourselves and with our surroundings.
