Yoga and mindfulness techniques prove very effective in improving both physical and mental wellbeing.
When my son was diagnosed with autism, numerous professionals recommended yoga, but we were unable to find a class to suit his needs. In response, I have trained in a new type of yoga which focuses on primitive reflex integration mixed with yoga poses and mindfulness. These techniques have proven beneficial to anyone looking to reach their mental and physical potential as demonstrated in my first client - my son!
Whist teaching, I have also found some men can often feel uncomfortable with the prospect of yoga as a very female focused discipline - I am challenging this preconception, and am pleased to include many people who felt yoga was "not for them" as regular clients feeling the benefits of my inclusive and diverse sessions.
Rather than teaching large groups, I offer small classes and one-to-one yoga and mindfulness sessions specifically tailored to the attendees for adults and children alike, and also provide yoga therapy sessions for those with additional needs either within a school setting or from my own private studio.
My proudest moment so far has been seeing the way my son has progressed through the developmental stages; he is now even riding a bike unaided - something we discounted due lack of core strength and balance.
