The Ashtanga (8 limbs) Yoga system is designed as a sequence of postures which help to develop incredible strength, endurance and flexibility of the body and a calmness and stillness of the mind. This class will teach the fundamentals of ashtanga yoga, sun salutations, ujjayi breath, awareness and activation of energy locks and vinyasas (a flow of movement with breath) to allow students to feel the full benefits of primary series of ashtanga yoga. Ashtanga’s intensity can also invoke positive life transformations off the mat, helping you to live fully, with a deep sense of Self and positive awareness in your daily life. Rocket Yoga uses a mix of the primary and secondary sequence from Ashtanga to create a dynamic session linking movement with breath with a faster flow including inversions and balances.

The intention of the Mandala Vinyasa practice is to honour the creative energy in all its manifestations, and to integrate the spiral patterns that nature uses to shape and create all the material and energetic substances in our bodies.  It opens us into deeper introspection as we move around the mat, whilst also exploring circular movements with our bodies, arriving into places that perhaps our awareness would not have access to by just following a linear pattern.

I have been doing Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga with Shahana for about 6 months. I would highly recommend this to everyone. The direction given to beginners is thorough and you are made to feel that you are at the beginning of a very beneficial and harmonious journey. It is challenging but the benefits soon became apparent. Wonderful class and head massages are great too!

Fabulous class. Suitable for all abilities with great instruction and support from the instructor. I have been doing the classes for a few months and feel the benefits. It would be great if the classes were a bit longer.

I started doing Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga with Shahana at easygym and I would highly recommend the to everyone. It is challenging but it’s benefits around endurance, flexibility and strength outweighs that. Shahana is very supportive during the class an really enjoyed by time in her classes

Amazing sessions with the knowledgeable, friendly and inspiring yoga instructor, Shahana. Classes can start off challenging but it is all part of the transformation process and you will start to see results paying off in no time at all! I love the classes and recommend them to yoga beginners or enthusiasts.

I love classes with Shahana, she caters for all levels of difficulty and offers advice and support in and outside of the class times. It also helps that she has a beautiful, encouraging demeanor and a gorgeous smile! Her classes are throrougly enjoyable, relaxing and recommended!

As a newcomer to Yoga with Shahana at Easygym about 6 months ago, I quickly realised the benefits. Shahana is truly an amazing, outstanding tutor, who has inspired me to develop insight into a new, positive lifestyle adventure. Encouragement, support and passion for yoga are all combined in making classes very enjoyable indeed for all levels. Definitely 5 Star recommendation without any hesitation. Shahana introduced me to yoga through her classes at easygym. She was extremely patient with my volley of questions about yoga forms to lose weight. There was something about her classes that made me never miss even a single one of them since the time I joined. Within a very short span, I seem to have been completely relieved of my middle back ache which keeps cropping up whenever I do any workout out of my comfort zone. I will always be thankful to her for the same.

I am relatively new to yoga and have benefitted enormously with Shahana’s teaching. She is patient, inspirational and brings about a certain calm to the class whilst meeting individual needs. I used to suffer with my lower back though am thrilled to say no more! 🙂 Eternal thanks Shahana 🙂 x

Shahana’s class just flows like a beautiful waterfall. She makes you feel like you are floating on a large water Lilly carrying you onto another level. I adore her as an instructor her energy is calming and very peaceful. As a instructor myself I feel she can benefit a while spectrum of individuals.

I have taken ashtanga classes with Shahana for a few months now and can honestly say that any back or general muscular problems I had are now a thing of the past. Her classes make you feel stronger, lighter, calmer but more energised all in one go!! I even managed to persuade my 20 year old son to give it a go last week! His verdict was “it was pretty good!” – believe me, thats high praise from a young man who usually sticks to weights!!
I would definitely recommend this class!

I never appreciated the true value of yoga until I started to attend Shahanas classes. I started to do alot of body weight exercises and the only reason I know I have progressed is because of Shahanas classes. It has truly complimented my other forms of training and given me the valuable strength and flexibility required. My mind set also feels alot more balanced. Shahanas delivery style is second to none. It’s hard to explain it..you have to try out the classes to really see for yourself. Know matter who you are…what your background is..everyone needs to incorporate these classes… Read more »

The class starts with relaxation & meditation, then we move to a vigorous & energising warm up, then we work on balance, posture, stretching & core. This is all incorporated into yoga moves & postures, with great music playing in the background. We finally finish the class with more relaxation & mediation. It’s a real balanced & fulfilling class………….love it!

Thanks to Shahana’s yoga sessions now I am a lot more flexible and strong physically and mentally. I feel incredibly grateful to you for taking us on this journey, in which slowly slowly nearly without realising we have learnt so much.
