About tatty bumpkin
Perhaps we should start by saying what it is not-it isn’t traditional yoga taught to kids. Tatty Bumpkin yoga is a world apart from adult classes; it is more spontaneous, more creative and much noisier! It is taught in a different way, using a multi-disciplinary approach that provides learning opportunities to stimulate the senses, sharpen their minds, develop their muscles and co-ordination and bring them a sense of calm.
Each class follows a lesson plan with specific learning objectives aligned to the EYFS.
We start off each session with a warm up song and we end each session with a relaxation exercise.
The bit in the middle is where the magic happens- We tell wonderful adventure stories to keep the children engaged. We may use props, puppets, music, bubbles, feathers, songs and rhyme, parachutes, different textured materials and many other forms of stimulation, instead of doing squat jumps we hop like frogs to catch the flies, instead of downward facing dog we are dogs digging for worms- we use our imaginations. We laugh a lot.
We teach in schools, nurseries, childrens centres, one to ones and private classes. we have programmes to suit babies- all the way to teens. We are proud to say that we have a natural respect for children. Our mission is to fill enfield with clever minds and bendy bodies! x
