About The Mindfulness Lounge Willesden Green

Who is Mindfulness for?

Mindfulness is of value to anyone who would like to find calm and peace in a frantic world, reduce their stress levels, discover positive changes in their well-being; improve attention, learning and performance; be more skilful in marital relationships and parenting; be less likely to get stuck in anxiety, depression or exhaustion; and gain access to healthier and less impulsive choices in relation to smoking overeating and alcohol consumption.

What is the evidence base for Mindfulness?

Neuro-scientific studies found that Mindfulness meditation increases the area of the brain linked to empathy and emotion regulation and that it improves people’s attention, job performance, productivity and satisfaction.

It has also been shown to increase blood flow, reduce blood pressure, and protect people at risk of developing hypertension. It reduces the risk and severity of cardiovascular disease.
