About Lauren Ashtanga Yoga

I discovered yoga in my early twenties, by chance, in a gym and have been practising ever since. For me, yoga was a path to healing because it gave me the tools to cultivate a healthy relationship with my body.

I've been teaching Ashtanga yoga in London for more than ten years, and am also a yoga therapist and trauma-sensitive yoga facilitator (TCTSY-F).

I teach ashtanga through a trauma-informed lens and am passionate about bringing these practices and conversations into the ashtanga community.

My experience working in a therapeutic setting has informed my teaching of ashtanga and adaptation of the practice to suit specific needs I love the personal touch of teaching both Mysore self-practice and working with clients one on one, helping people to gain the most benefit from their practice.

My Counted Led Primary Classes focus on maintaining concentration and rhythm through the use of the Sanskrit count and the tristhana (breath, asana and drishti) whilst being fun and welcoming to all.
