About Marj Cook Yoga

Marj teaches her own style of Hatha yoga based around a unique alignment system developed by her teacher Kate Ellis. This offers a way of working that takes into account your individual anatomy, posture, movement habit patterns and your current emotional/energetic needs. A typical class will include Asana (posture-work), Pranayama (breath-work) and restorative practice. Her down to earth approach make her classes accessible to everyone regardless of age or ability.

She was first introduced to yoga whilst working at a holistic holiday centre in Greece in 1991. Since then she has explored many different styles of yoga including Ashtanga, Scaravelli and Iyengar both in India and in the UK. Her passion for yoga naturally led her towards teaching and in 2007 she completed a BWY accredited teacher training with The Life Centre (now Yogacampus). She has taught in a variety of settings around the UK and internationally.

Marj has a committed personal yoga practice central to her life. Her yoga journey is ongoing and she attends frequent workshops to develop her skills as well as regular sessions with her teacher

More recently Marj qualified as a Mindfulness teacher with MindfulnessUK/Psychotherapy Counselling Awarding Body (2018). She currently teaches this privately in 1:1 and group settings.
