About Yoga Flow with Karen

I have been practising Hatha Yoga for 17 years and taught since 2006. In addition to Hatha I have experience of practising Dru, Iyengar, Ashtanga Vinyasa and Pre-natal Yoga. I am a Yoga Registered Teacher (YRT -200hrs) with the Independent Yoga Network and am qualified with The British School of Yoga. I also hold a British Wheel of Yoga Foundation Course Certificate and am fully insured.

My background is in Occupational Therapy where I specialised in Mental Health however I left the NHS after fighting lymphatic cancer (twice over) during my 20’s to retrain as a yoga teacher. Yoga helped me so much during this challenge that I wanted to make it part of my life and inspire others to do so, educating them about its profoundly healing benefits. Since teaching, two of my students have gone on to become yoga teachers themselves with successful classes of their own.

I am also a qualified Nutritional Adviser, Reiki Master Practitioner and a busy Mum of two young girls. In addition, I enjoy the great outdoors, swimming and running, and am a dedicated Pilates student.

I approached Karen to discuss a long standing issue with degenerative disc disease causing acute back pain. I’d heard yoga could help. I was apprehensive and a little nervous at my first lesson but Karen has a very warm personality and quickly put me at ease. She clearly has an abundance of knowledge and expertise as my situation was diagnosed within minutes. There’s obviously significant effort put in to planning every lesson as they are bespoke and incredibly effective with hand outs provided to aid practice in between. The lessons are fun too and I don’t recall one not involving… Read more »
