Ancoats Yoga Class! - Starts 15th October 2020 18:30-19:30
at Hallé @ St. Michaels 36 - 38 George Leigh St.
(This was the class I was about to start just before lockdown.)

Your local, walk to, neighbourhood regular weekly Yoga class
more details soon..

These will be beginners/mixed ability Yoga classes with emphasis on breathing, finding ease in movement, exercise, through sun salutations (movements) and steady postures (shapes).
There will be recovery time between postures and time at the end for relaxation.

Every body is different.

I will encourage you to focus on your practice and self enquiry, guide you into postures and through movements.
It is important that you listen to your body and find a balance between effort and not over-doing it or simply doing what ever feels appropriate on the day for you, in the moment, as long as it is safe.
(it really is OK to just lay down and rest or do something different)

Please bare in mind your environment and make yourself an as clear and quiet space as you can.
(to avoid knocking things over onto yourself and noise from televisions interuptions from phones etc)

Any questions or for more information please get in contact.

If you require a more personal/individual ZOOM / SKYPE / FACETIME / WEBCAM Yoga and, or somatic session. Please get in contact.

After discovering a gem of a class at a local gym and practicing for a couple of years, I liked the sense of calm, peace and focus yoga gave my very distractible mind. I also enjoyed less aches and pains as a result of my body becoming steadier and stronger.

I travelled to Kerala, India to study at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre. (200hr Yoga Alliance RYS Jan 2015). I enjoyed the course, loved the experience in the Ashram and knew yoga was going to be a big part of my life.

With a genuine desire to help others share in the benefits of a regular yoga practice I began to teach and continue to learn.

I qualified (June 2018) as a Somatic Exercise Coach having trained with Lisa Petersen @ Living yoga. This line of enquiry really changed my teaching practice and approach. I find it intellectually stimulating and I like how it is teaching others to help themselves.

I have now lead yoga asana classes with pranayama and more mindful movement in Manchester for the last 4 years and have gained over 1000 hours of teaching experience at my classes at leisure centres, community centres, an inner city school, college and university, private offices and covering at Bodywise in Manchester Buddhist Centre.

In the busy leisure centre environment my creativity and ability to adapt and change has proved essential. In these popular fully rounded classes I like to create a non-competitive, peaceful, light-hearted, atmosphere combining the energy of group practice with individual focus. I try to allow time for people to absorb what they do, move more mindfully and encourage a peaceful practice hopefully able to continue their day with a sense of well-being.

Believing in continuing personal development I continue to attend workshops. The most recent listed first:

The Embryology of Communication: Cells, Blood and Fluid Movements with Amy Matthews (Nov 2019)
Somatics CPD: Pelvis, pelvic floor, psoas, sacrum and jaw theme Lisa Petersen. (Sept 2019).

Gentle is the New Advanced with J Brown at Triyoga, London. (Jan 2019)
