About Balance with Beth

Kundalini yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual discipline for developing strength, awareness, character, and consciousness.

Practitioners call Kundalini yoga the yoga of awareness because it focuses primarily on practices that expand sensory awareness and intuition in order to raise individual consciousness and merge it with the Infinite consciousness.

In Kundalini Yoga each kriya (exercise set) has a specific outcome. There are sets to help reduce anxiety, depression, calm the heart or help with your emotional balance.

Kundalini Yoga uses postures, breath work, mudras ( hand positions) and mantras to bring about a balance for the physical, mental and spiritual body.

Each month we work around a theme, for example, anxiety, depression, back or neck problems. Students are encouraged to share (via email) any themes they would like to work with.

​If you have a specific area of your body you would like to strengthen, stretch or balance this can be done in class or if you would like to have a one on one session so you are more able to understand how particular actions will help elongate, exercise and strengthen your muscles then this can also be arranged.

​Lots of the exercises sets we do work around the musculoskeletal system and the spinal bio-mechanics. We work to lubricate the spine and increase the flow and circulation of the spinal and cerebrospinal fluid. This has the effect of hydrating the vertebrae and invertebral discs which in combination with long deep breathing pumps the cerebrospinal fluid round the body. The cebrebrospinal fluid is the circulatory system of the central nervous system, bringing in oxygen and nutrients and moving waste products away. Increased circulation of the spinal fluid is crucially linked to having a good memory.

Classes are held in the Loft at the Hilt which is the Recreational Ground opposite Hiltingbury Infant School, Hiltingbury Road. Chandlers Ford. SO53 5NP

Opening Times

Monday 9.30 am - 3.00pm. Monday Evening Class is at 7-8pm
Tuesday 9.30 am - 3.00pm. Tuesday Morning Class is at 9.30 -10.30 am
