About Yogamaniac
I have known yoga since Christmas 1997 when I received a little 101 Yoga tips book. I had been suffering from scoliosis of the spine and had many achey back moments. I was listless in life and this was like a wake up call. It was amazing. I had suddenly found something that felt ’just right’. It helped cure my headaches and backache and helped me then through my life and its ups and downs. I went all through my pregnancy right up to a week before I gave birth with teaching yoga. My son is now 8 and is a boyant bundle of joy and loves
I realised early on I wanted to give this gift of bliss to others and trained with the International Yoga School. I Have been giving out this gift since 2000 and it is always a joy to see the calm cover the body and mind of people every day.
A mix of vinyasa and healing hatha styles with the emphasis on movement with breath as meditation in motion. Focusing on using the breath as we move into, through, and out of postures as our plumb-line. Slow, controlled and in the moment. Something to keep us sturdy and grounded when everything else around us is in flux and motion.
There is the warm up relating postures, then the main area where there is usually a theme that week, sometimes backbends, sometimes hips, ankles, twists, or and including warmer fast paced areas, or cooling down soothing areas, depending on the mood of the theme. Then ending with calmer postures to quieten and calm the body and mind down for a blissful relax at the end. It is open to all abilities. A supportive word or prop can be used if needed to help sink into your moment better. Great for helping physical issues that need repair and strength building. Remedial and restorative. It helps bring you back to who you essentially are, without the confines of our minds.
