Lorna is a qualified Yoga teacher affiliated with the British Wheel of Yoga. She teaches Hatha yoga for beginners to intermediates. Chair Yoga for the NHS, gentle yoga for seniors and restorative yoga. She also teaches at various gyms in Kent.   Her classes incorporate body and mind awareness, a range of postures to work particular areas of the body and  a mix of strong and gentle sequencing with movements led by the breath.
Her classes are friendly and non-competitive and everyone is encouraged to work within their own limitations with modifications and variations of the postures offered.  She pays particular attention to alignment and the subtleties within each posture.
Lorna has been practicing yoga for over twenty years and is continually studying to ensure that her classes are always a revitalizing, refreshing and energizing experience.
Gentle Beginners Yoga: Gentle nurturing yoga is accessible for all, not matter how old you are or whatever your physical ability. Perfect for the stiffer body or complete beginners who may be anxious to join a more general beginners class. Emphasis will be on safe and correct alignment with support and individual attention delivered at a pace and ethos to suit you.
Beginners: The beginners classes are aimed at those who’ve never done yoga before or who are returning to yoga after a long break. Yoga is a practice of personal growth and transformation and we work to our individual physical and mental limitations. With options to take stronger and deeper poses if desired. The class size is never more than 12 people.

Beginners to improvers: These classes are still suitable for beginners as modifications and variations are offered in some of the stronger postures, but this class will also suit those that aspire to work deeper in the practice.

Restore and Rebalance: NHS referrals welcome: Suitable for all ages and are generally aimed at people with limited flexibility, recovering from illness or injury or suffering from anxiety or stress. Restorative yoga uses adaptations of classic yoga postures during which your body is passively supported using props. This will allow your body to stay in the poses for longer periods of time (5-15 minutes depending on the pose and the individual). The focus is less on stretching and strengthening and more on releasing tension and increasing circulation and flexibility. There is minimum intensity and a regular practice can improve the immune system and restore the body and mind. The restorative classes are ideal for those with limited flexibility, stiff and aching joints, suffering from stress or anxiety or recovering from illness or injury. Places are limited to keep the classes small.

Chair Yoga for the work place or residential home: Sessions on request are also available to the workplace or to residential homes for the elderly. The practices are designed  to restore movement and flexibility, balance and focus. Ideal for the busy stressful workplace or for those with physical limitations, or individuals whose circumstances require long periods of sitting.

The health issues caused by prolonged sitting, or inactivity in general is finally being recognised, but apart from the many health risks and there are too many to list here, we lose energy, we lose abdominal strength, we lose correct postural awareness and we age more rapidly.
The great thing about chair yoga is that it can be done anywhere and anytime, no mat required, no special clothing, (although loose clothing will make it easier)
Chair yoga is the perfect solution for office workers, or anyone who does not have time or can not move their bodies through a full range of motion.
We will work through a few simple functional and classical yoga poses that you will be able to incorporate into your daily lives.. and the benefits to your physical and mental health will start to show. you will start to feel better, sleep better, eat better, have more focus, energy and stamina.

Private group sessions, (pamper parties, hen parties, corporate workplaces sessions)

  • Stress management techniques
  • Tension release techniques
  • Introduction to mindfulness and coping mechanisms
  • Sessions tailored to your needs

Mats and props available but please do bring along a small blanket or throw.

Please call or email for more details and a health declaration form

I very much look forward to hearing from you.

Yoga classes with Lorna are a true inspiration. She promotes a sense of calm and spirituality and has given me the confidence to feel good about my body. She tailors the poses to suit individuals and is aware of any adjustments for any ailments we might have. I am really feeling the benefits of her classes. They are relaxed and friendly and the perfect escape from the pressures of everyday life. I have a bad back, and shoulder and knee….and I have felt very looked after as she suggests modifications at every step and uses props so that I can… Read more »

If you have been thinking about yoga for a long-time but a bit nervous to start then I can recommend Lorna’s class. Thanks to her gentle nature and simple instructions she makes you feel at ease from the start. There is a lovely feeling in the class and the course is progressive but we never force our bodies . She keeps the group small so that she has time to explain and correct peoples posture. I tried a course much nearer to my house but I prefer to take the longer journey to Lorna’s class. I can highly recommend it… Read more »

My daughter and I joined Lorna’s beginners yoga class together and thoroughly enjoy the small group and calm, mindful start to our busy weekends. During each lesson we are taught some new poses and Lorna is attentive to each of us to ensure we are following correctly and achieving the most benefit for our body from the pose. I would definitely recommend her beginners class to anyone thinking of starting yoga – you will receive a warm welcome.
