Highly experience yoga teacher trained by world-renowned John Scott. Studio ashtanga classes, meditation classes, workplace yoga, school yoga and yoga & meditation for anxiety. I also teach community classes and classes for health conditions.
My studio Ashtanga classes are energetic, flowing classes to tone and to build strength, balance and flexibility in body and mind. You will leave the classes feeling calm, centred and energised.
I am fortunate to have completed my 200 hour Yoga Alliance accredited teacher training with John Scott, one of Ashtanga yoga’s leading teacher trainers and an inspirational teacher; my studio classes are true to the Ashtanga tradition.
My training in anatomy, movement, meditation, children's yoga and healthcare yoga and person-centred therapy all inform my classes, with all classes structured to meet the needs of the specific students.
I’ve worked delivering yoga in colleges, prisons and community centres, delivered yoga inspired by art at The Harris art gallery and worked with the NHS recovery team. I also teach yoga to deaf adults and to foundation college students.
I work with sequences of postures which are appropriately energetic and flowing, to feel like a dance to the rhythm of the breath, creating peace in body and mind. I focus on moving in time with our breath while we make and hold a series of shapes (asana). This requires focus and therefore we have no time to think and our minds are at peace. We breathe deeply and slowly which calms the nervous system.
Classes are balanced to work every part of the body building strength, flexibility and balance as well as cardiovascular strength. We also practice breathing techniques to help steady the mind.
Thursday 6-7pm, Thursday 7:10-8:30pm, and Friday 6 - 7:30pm
