About Valley Yoga with Sarah

Sarah has been practicing yoga for over 16 years and teaches a range of styles, including Vinyasa Flow, Restorative Yoga, Pre-Natal Yoga, Mother & Baby Yoga, Teen Yoga and Meditation. Classes take place in Rawtenstall and works privately with individuals or small groups.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga – an energetic-paced yoga class that links the breath with movement through a sequence of rythmic flows. All classes are themed but include a full body workout, with time set aside for relaxation and breathing techniques or meditation. Vinyasa Flow is suitable for all abilities, however beginners may benefit from attending Yoga for Beginners or Gentle Vinyasa Flow classes first, in order to learn the basic yoga poses at a slower pace.

Gentle Flow Yoga – a gentle Vinyasa Flow class, suitable for beginners or those who prefer slower-paced yoga with the addition of restorative poses. Modifications and yoga props are encouraged so that everyone can benefit from the yoga positions, regardless of age or ability.

Yoga for Beginners – suitable for all abilites, this yoga class teaches all the basic yoga positions, breathing techniques, meditation techniques and Sun Salutations and a slow pace.

Relax & Restore – delivered by candlelight, the class encourages deep relaxation of the body and mind, through breath-work, gentle yoga stretches and restorative yoga poses using bolsters and yoga props. Enjoy a glass of tea after the class whilst you adjust back to your surroundings. Suitable for all abilities including beginners, during pregnancy and post-natal. Bring your own blanket/throw to class.

Teen Yoga – a Vinyasa Flow class tailored to the needs of 13 – 17 year olds. Flow sequences encourage body-mind-breath awareness, help to reverse the physical effects of sitting at a desk for long periods and to de-stress the mind, promote self-confidence and a positive body image.

Mother & Baby Yoga – a gentle class for mum and baby to enjoy together, suitable after the 6-week check-up (12-weeks after c-section) with consent from your doctor. Meet other mums whilst bonding with your baby and participating in yoga moves that benefit both of your needs.

Pre-Natal Yoga – a class suitable for the second and third trimeters of pregnancy. You will be introduced to a range of yoga poses and breathing techniques that are safe and benficial during the different stages of pregnancy, to help releive tension, promote relaxation and prepare the body and mind for childbirth. Meditation and relaxation sessions are guided for your ease and promote bonding with your unborn baby.

Yoga mats and props are provided free of charge at all classes but you are more than welcome to bring any of your own equipment.
