I hold a British Wheel of Yoga Teaching Diploma (gained in Nov 2007). I have been teaching classes for 10 years and practising yoga since 1995. My sessions include: breath awareness, postures (asanas) which are practised both individually and in flowing sequences, breath control (pranayama) and guided relaxation. Seated meditation practises are also included on occasions.
The style of yoga I teach is influenced by Viniyoga, Iyengar and Ashtanga. I place a strong emphasis on the relationship between the breath and the body / movement. My aim is for students to improve their posture and body awareness, develop a healthier, more efficient breathing style, increase their suppleness, strength and stamina, and above all, learn how to relax!
All my classes are mixed ability and beginners are welcome. I believe Yoga should be adapted to the needs / capabilities of the individual and my teaching style reflects this.
Please note. I am currently on a maternity break, so am not teaching classes at the moment. (Updated Jan 2019)
