About Yoga with Anna in Lincs

I teach yoga because I love it. Yoga is beautiful, nourishing and fun, and I hope my classes reflect this.

Yoga is good for us in so many ways: building strength, increasing flexibility, improving fitness, reducing stress, developing self-awareness, and giving us an excuse to have fun. I teach a well-rounded synthesis of several yoga styles to bring all these benefits to each student in every single class.

My Background in Yoga

I went to my first yoga class in 1993. It was ‘love at first sight’, and yoga quickly became a fundamental part of my life. Over the last 25 years I’ve experimented with many styles of yoga practice, but have immersed myself in the Sivananda, Satyananda and more recently Astanga traditions.

In 2001 I travelled to Kerala, India, for Sivananda yoga teacher training. In 2002 I started teacher training with the British Wheel of Yoga, which I completed in 2005. During that time I also undertook pregnancy yoga teacher training – formally with the Birthlight Trust, and informally through a mentoring programme with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli. In 2016 I trained to teach yoga nidra with the Yoga Nidra Network. Recently I’ve studied breathwork with Ben Wolff.

From 2001 – 2005 I taught as a karma yogi at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre in Putney. From 2002 – 2005 I taught hatha yoga at gyms and yoga studios around London. From 2004 – 2005 I taught pregnancy yoga for Sitaram Yoga. I returned to yoga teaching in 2018

Since 2014 I’ve worked as a freelance yoga editor, helping specialist yoga teacher trainers develop their training material.
