I offer Dru Yoga classes to revitalise, restore and relax. Classes take place in and around the beautiful market towns of Richmond, North Yorkshire and Barnard Castle, County Durham.
Dru Yoga is suitable for all ages and fitness levels because the movements can be made as dynamic or as gentle as you wish. I have been practising Dru Yoga for 20 years and love it because it has the power to transform people's lives. It not only increases energy levels, but has been proven to ease back pain, reduce stress and calm the mind. With regular class attendance and practice people experience an overall improvement in their health, a greater sense of well-being and a feeling of empowerment to realize their full potential and their dreams.
My typical Dru Yoga class consists of a short activation, usually to music, to get the circulation flowing and to get the body moving. This is followed by an Energy Block Release sequence. This is a series of beautiful flowing movements aimed at increasing the flow of energy around the body and releasing any tension from the muscles and joints. A session will normally also include pranayama (breathing exercise) and at least one asana (posture). Every session finishes with a relaxation of a minimum of 10 minutes.
I am also a fully qualified Reiki practitioner. Reiki is an alternative therapy that reduces stress and promotes healing through relaxation and the re-balancing of energy in the body. You can sit in a chair or lie on a treatment table. You remain fully clothed and the therapy is non-intrusive. You will feel no pain or discomfort. A typical Reiki session will last between 40 – 60 minutes. Stress, anxiety, depression and pain are just some of the conditions that can be helped by Reiki therapy.
