Welcome and thank you for taking an interest in the life-enhancing practices of Mindfulness, Yoga and TRE! What I really love about this work is that it is accessible to each and every one of us – whatever your race, gender, size, age, religion, vocation, ability, health…

I work with individuals, schools and companies offering classes, courses, workshops, retreats, coaching and customised training. Through my work, whether one to one or in groups I aim to facilitate the health, happiness and well-being of all.

Whether you feel on top form looking to find some greater purpose to your life or feel pretty low mentally, physically or emotionally all of us can benefit from making the time to re-engage with our lives in a more mindful way.

Through these simple and practical mind-body approaches you can learn to live life with a greater sense of ease, appreciation and enjoyment and in doing so realise your personal and professional potential.

Not only does it transform our own lives by taking care of ourselves physically, mentally and emotionally – it also has a huge ripple effect extending the benefits to our family, friends, colleagues and our world!

Mindfulness is the ability to leave the past behind us and to not project ourselves into a catastrophic future. Instead we learn to live in the present moment where our real lives are unfolding, where we can make skilful, life-enhancing choices. Mindful living offers us the ability to meet the challenges of our lives with enthusiasm and optimism, accessing new ways of problem solving, enhancing our creativity and optimising our global sense of wellbeing. Mindfulness creates clearer communication, helping us relate to others with understanding.

Hatha Yoga is an ancient scientific practice that promotes physical and mental wellbeing. It encourages us to reach our potential and gives us opportunities for personal and spiritual growth. As it continues to evolve it provides tried and tested techniques which are a valuable resource to us in our fast paced modern life. The traditional aim of yoga is to purify the body to clear the mind, helping us to be in a better balanced state where we can live life more consciously.

Together mindfulness and yoga help us to cultivate a greater awareness of our breath, body, thoughts and emotions so that we can gain more self-understanding and find new, more helpful ways of responding to challenges in our daily lives. They encourage us to reflect more, connect to ourselves and open our hearts. This doesn't stop life from happening, but gives us an essential steadiness, a place of peace, clarity and understanding from which we can engage and respond rather than react out of habit and our conditioning. We can then meet challenges of our modern daily life with greater ease and equanimity. Bringing together the transformational practices of mindfulness and yoga allows us to develop our wisdom and compassion and to be the change we wish to see in the world.

Living mindfully creates the opportunity to live with compassion and to be grateful for our lives whatever is occurring. With practice, mindfulness and yoga become a way of life, a way of being that frees us to be joyful, spontaneous, energised and engaged and to be as healthy and well as we are able.

One of just a few certified TRE providers in the UK, I run group sessions and offer individual TRE sessions. TRE is a series of exercises practiced mindfully to assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. It is a simple and easy to learn self-help practice.

Chose that title as at 68 and overweight with bits that don’t work so well you need a teacher who is aware of everyone’s needs. I attend the Skipton class and Lisa has a loyal following. She has a gentle approach and attends to your physical and mental needs – you come out of the class feeling totally refreshed. She is a very positive influence and in Skipton provides 2 classes one more movement by movement and the second more flowing and therefore demanding.

Three years after becoming a mum, my return to yoga is long overdue and having found Lisa, I can’ believe I left it this long. Lisa is a fantastic teacher: positive, relaxed and encouraging. Lisa gives real one-to-one attention so I feel I’ve learnt loads in only a few weeks. It’s hard work though . . . . I’ve never been out of breath doing the downward dog before. Ever!!

Lisa is a knowledgeable instructor, who makes classes interesting and fun, and you always feel better after practice. She makes sure people are comfortable in all postures and relaxation, and treats everyone as an individual.

I am also currently attending yoga therapy classes with Lisa, which have shown me a completely different path with regards to stress and pain relief. Lisa has a calming voice, and an inspiring nature.

I’ve been attending Lisa’s yoga classes for a few years now, and am more than happy to make the 25 mile round trip!

Have been going to the Tuesday 7.30pm class at Skipton for a year and and half now and would really recommend it. Lisa is a fab teacher, who paces the classes very well and we learn something new each week. It is a really fun, friendly class and whilst it is nice to be ‘stretched’ a little in more ways than one- you can work at your own level with Lisa carefully checking you haven’t tied yourself in a knot!!!!! I always come home afterwards feeling totally chilled – Thank you!

Lisa’s class is a lovely yoga work out for the body as well as the mind. I have done yoga for many years and in different places and I am very pleased I found Lisa in Skipton via yogahub.

My mum and I joined Lisa last Friday for a Mindfulness day at the lovely Meditation centre in Dent. From start to finish, the day was enjoyable, relaxing and thought-provoking. For people who lead busy lives, have a lot on their minds or tend to operate at top speed most of the time, learning about and starting to practice mindfulness is both enlightening and rewarding. I recently attended Lisa’s day of Mindful Yoga and Meditation at Parcevall Hall – what a great, relaxing day of ‘me’ time! I would definitely recommend this as Lisa’s welcoming and calming style made for a super day and the combination of yoga, meditation and mindfulness was just what I needed.

I thoroughly recommend Lisa’s Mindfulness Course. The practices included meditations, breathing exercises, light yoga and group discussions and were geared towards relaxation and dealing with everyday situations. Practicing ‘being’ in the present moment and appreciating what we have now was also very calming. I have been more mindful by making better choices when responding to difficult situations and have been practicing being kinder to myself. It was particularly inspiring meeting Lisa who is very knowledgeable and experienced in mindfulness and yoga and has a friendly and welcoming manner. We are gong through Lisa’s 8-week Mindfulness course and she mentioned that she was training as a TRE (Tension Releasing Exercises, or “tremoring”) teacher, so we went along to a one-off class. Lisa was very kind and reassuring, and we all felt calm, open-minded and supported. There was a series of exercises to do, as a lead-in to the TRE and Lisa was very careful to observe everyone individually and ensure we were doing the exercises correctly. I have recently completed an 8 week Mindfulness course with Lisa – Finding Peace in a Frantic World. The 8 weeks has brought a great sense of wellbeing and started a journey of awareness and daily practice to support life’s challenges. The weekly group sessions provided a safe and welcoming environment facilitated by Lisa to learn and practice simple mindfulness meditations. ‘Being’ rather than ‘Doing’ has helped improve both my mental and physical health.
