About York Self-Realisation Fellowship
We are a circle who meet bi-weekly on Mondays to practice Kriya Yoga. We are free to attend and open to all.
Self-Realisation Fellowship is a worldwide non-profit Organisation with more than 700 Meditation Centres, Groups and Circles spread across the globe. For more than eighty-five years, SRF has been dedicated to carrying on the spiritual and humanitarian work of its founder, Paramahansa Yogananda, widely revered as the father of Yoga in the West.
Paramahansa Yogananda founded SRF in 1920 to make available the universal teachings of Kriya Yoga, a sacred spiritual science originating millenniums ago in India. These nonsectarian teachings embody a complete philosophy and way of life for achieving all-round success and well-being, as well as methods of meditation for achieving life’s ultimate goal — union of the soul with Spirit (God).
If you are new to SRF, we suggest reading Paramahansa Yogananda’s Autobiography of a Yogi. York’s new meditation circle meet fortnightly to follow a pre-established program of Meditation Services, and other Inspirational sacred readings.
