About Garuda Yoga

Looking for something? Want to find inner peace, learn how to do the splits or just touch those toes? Whatever the goal for your yoga practice, Garuda Yoga can help.

Garuda Yoga vinyasa classes are upbeat, flowing and set to music to get your body moving and your heart beating. Drawing from different yoga traditions, graceful flowing movements are fused with alignment-focused cues and eclectic beats. With no guru or posture series to rely on, the Vinyasa system enables the teacher to develop and build classes intelligently with a specific purpose in mind.

If you’re looking for a gentler way into yoga, try my restore classes – a combination of restorative and yin postures to leave you feeling refreshed and renewed.

Yoga is for everyone. Find the class that suits your body and your needs.

About the teacher
I first encountered yoga at my local gym around eleven years ago but it wasn’t until I attended an Ashtanga class in 2007 that I fell completely in love with the practice.

I had always been attracted to the idea of yoga as a way to de-stress and unwind. But with a mind that’s always racing I found many classes weren’t right for me – they were too slow and I found myself agitated and frustrated, I just couldn’t switch off.

The fast movements and deep connection to the breath in an Ashtanga practice made it more accessible and I found myself going every day. I continued for 18 months before moving on to explore different styles of practice at Indaba, Triyioga and Yotopia in London. I attended classes with some of the UKs best-known and well-loved teachers spanning many different styles and disciplines.

In 2013, having found my happy place in the more fluid and free Vinyasa approach, I enrolled on the appleyoga teacher training programme with Katy Appleton and completed the training in 2014.

I set up Garuda Yoga in 2014 with the aim of bringing a new kind of Vinyasa Flow class to my local area. Garuda Yoga fuses strength and power with grace and fluidity. Always set to music, classes are fun but challenging. Students will leave sweaty and more flexible but most importantly with a smile on their faces.
