About Yoga Kind
Yoga Kind is run by Polly. I have been practising yoga for 32 years and teaching for 6 years. My style is hatha (electic) with considerations for comfortable and appropriate practice for the individual body. Safety of practice and careful alignment are priorities for me and my class is carefully planned; I believe that a class of miscellaneous postures done incorrectly will cause more harm then good.
I offer a modification for every single posture so that the yoga is suitable for all.
I trained with the Real Yoga School (500 hours), the British School (both accredited by the Independent Yoga Network), Viniyoga foundation level and Pranayama foundation level; total training duration of 5 years plus ongoing CPD; experience gained over many years. I often bring a little humour to my class. You will find that you work as hard as you need. A typical 90 min class will involve up to 70 minutes of warm up and poses, 10 minutes of breathing practices and 10 minutes of relaxation.
I also run shorter ‘complete in themselves’ courses – 75 mins in length on yoga postures, breathing, restorative yoga and yoga philosophy.

Polly is an experienced and thoughtful teacher who caters for all needs and ages. I have thoroughly enjoyed every lesson that I have attended!
Polly plans a variety of poses, flows, breathing exercises and relaxation for each session. She is very informative about how different yoga poses highlight different parts of the body and cater for various common ailments. I always feel physically revitalized after the session, in better spirits and mentally healthier.

Since taking up yoga at the suggestion of my GP about 2 years ago, due to osteoarthritis, I have noticed a marked improvement in my joints and my posture; this, coupled with improved balance and concentration, has made me much more flexible and confident in doing movements I would not have attempted before. Polly is an excellent teacher, always considerate and knowledgeable of her subject. The beauty of yoga is that you do it to your own level without being pushed into doing things you don’t feel comfortable with, unlike some other exercise classes. I shall certainly be continuing my… Read more »
I have been doing yoga with Polly for over two years now, and continue to enjoy each and every class. Having arthritis, I have been so pleased to be able to continue with all the moves, modifying the poses to suit my level of stiffness on the day. Yoga has also been a great help in keeping me walking in the local hills, and for that too I am very grateful! I prefer the daytime classes in Brockton as I don’t like driving in the dark. The classes are in term blocks with a break between them, and Polly gives… Read more »
“Polly leads her yoga classes with patience, experience and a sense of humour; providing a relaxed and enjoyable environment in which to practice – yoga with Polly has become an essential part of my often hectic work/family life providing calm and balance, positively affecting both my physical and mental well being. I come away from each class with nuggets of wisdom and simple yoga exercises I am able to remember and practise at home .

Yoga helps maintain a healthy body and mind. The movements practiced and breathing techniques help to keep the body supple and also get rid of toxins. The breathing practice has a calming effect and may reduce feelings of stress. I find practising Yoga improves my sleep, with less disturbed nights. Joining a Yoga class is very beneficial to one`s health and wellbeing.

Polly’s classes cater for all abilities. Classes are relaxing and you certainly feel better for them as they loosen you up and release tension in your muscles. We also spend time on various breathing exercises which are great to help you de-stress and relax.

I have been attending Polly’s yoga classes on a Wednesday evening. I highly recommend her classes. They are a really enjoyable all round experience ranging from stretching those underused muscles; very beneficial breathing exercises; extremely interesting information about the philosophy of yoga and last, but not least, the fantastic relaxation; all of which sends you home a different person to the one that began the lesson. Polly is also a very kind, helpful and enthusiastic teacher whose classes are well-prepared, giving us tremendous variety from week to week, providing different parts of our body and their possible weaknesses with some… Read more »
The Pranayama two part course taken by Polly, was a great introduction to helping me understand yoga. Polly s classes are always packed with interest and each week the session is different which helps keep it fresh.
Self-awareness, breathing, relaxation and the connection between my body and my mind have all been wonderful to learn. Thanks Polly,
Jane
Polly’s classes have been really instructive for me in showing me new ways to approach familiar postures in order to benefit more from them without undue strain, allowing me to practice more comfortably poses that I would previously have struggled with.
The sessions that Polly puts together are always interesting and diverse; the class never gets stale, and I always feel that I come away having learned something new; be that a new posture, or the purpose behind a familiar one.

Polly’s class really is yoga for all! Everyone gets enjoyment and challenge, whether beginner or more experienced, and can benefit, whatever our limitations. I feel better after every class and have noticed lasting benefits in mobility and balance.

I’ve been going to Polly’s yoga class for just over 12 months. I had never done yoga before and I was 60 years old when I started with several other people new to yoga. Polly is very supportive to each individual’s needs. At the end of the session I feel refreshed in body and mind. It has also been very beneficial for the chronic low back pain which I have had for over 20 years. After 6 months of yoga I found that I no longer needed regular painkillers. The yoga helps me keep going on a daily basis, with… Read more »
