Description:

Yoga for focus, yoga for happiness and peace.
Develop confidence, balance, strength and agility while creating space in your mind and flexibility in your body: welcome to Liberty Yoga. I aim to make my classes welcoming and accessible above all else. It's your body, your practice.

I have been practising yoga for over 20 years and have been teaching for over 2 years. I hold a 200-hour certification; my study was with Zen Buddhist Master, Daizan Roshi. I teach privately to teens and adults as well as teaching to the public in different venues. I also teach yoga as part of the social sports curriculum at King's Bruton, a day and boarding school.

Class description:

Each class begins with a few minutes of mindfulness and body awareness.
Then we move on to a gentle flow to start with,  with emphasis on breath, movement and feeling your way into the poses. Cues for alignment are given. We build into a stronger practice to warm the body. It can be challenging if you choose, but there is always plenty of opportunity to take the class at your own pace with options to do more or less.

Winter classes incorporate candlelight.
Classes are non-competitive and have a lovely sense of camaraderie.

£10 drop-in. Blocks of 4 classes are £35.
I have mats for rent for £1 if you don't have one.
Thanks for finding my listing!

Louise is the most lovely, intuitive and inspiring teacher. I can’t recommend her more highly. She always reads my mood perfectly and tailors the private class accordingly – whether calming and soothing, or empowering and invigorating. I am always left feeling completely revived by a session with her.

I feel very lucky, indeed privileged, to have made contact with Louise, my Yoga instructor, in Bruton. She created a warm and welcoming feeling for the class in the community hall and delivered an all-round effective practice. At the end of the class I felt strengthened and calm, aware I had achieved my goal conscious I was peaceful, happy and light in body and spirit.

It was a great pleasure to be the Bruton area again and able to join four of the classes Louise gave during my recent visit. I She continues to provide a warm and open environment, very welcoming, and her thoughtfulness and knowledge make the Yoga experience all the more meaningful

This is the yoga teacher I have been looking for! Louise is kind, skilled and welcoming. The other people who come along are smiley and warm. I’ve been doing Louise’s class for overy a year now and I’ve noticed a big difference to my strength, flexibility and general wellbeing. I have even begun practising at home which I never expected. Come along and say hello!

My 12 year old twin girls have recently started doing a weekly yoga class with Louise. They absolutely love the session, have told me that she is a great teacher (high praise!) and always come out of the session smiling and looking relaxed. Louise has a very easy going nature and makes people feel at ease, regardless of their age or yoga experience. Can highly recommend.

I’ve been a regular of louise’s for well over a year now. It’s become the highlight of the week! Louise allows you to go at your own pace and provides alternatives for those of us with inflexible hamstrings! 🙂 louise is very good at reading the room for our energy levels and explaining things clearly. I love the little touches she brings of the candles and the oils etc. I’m so glad I found yoga in bruton, I feel so much better for it. It also provides a great night sleep! Thank you louise

I started weekly yoga classes as a complete beginner, the class is welcoming and you can go at your own pace with no judgement (even when I loose balance quite regularly!!) I started classes as was consistently suffering form back pain and locked hips, Louise’s classes have helped immeasurably with my increased strength, flexibility.and much less back pain.

I do love Louise’s class. She has a very warm and friendly personality and a great depth of knowledge. She makes everyone feel welcome and emphasises that it is truly fine to do yoga at your own pace and level.. She encourages you to tune into your own body and find what works for you. This is more important in yoga than making fantastic shapes but she will challenge you to go that bit further if she feels you are capable. This is the best type of yoga teaching

Louise has been teaching my 13 year old daughter and myself for the past 6 months, and we both really enjoy the class. My daughter most loves the more challenging and active aspects and I love how Louise teaches the deeper understandings behind the yoga moves and integrates them together with the breath and the relaxation. It’s been amazing to see and feel the benefits from it over the last few months.
