This new yoga class is for beginners but suitable for all students of yoga who wish to dive deeper into the wonderful benefits of yoga to body, mind and spirit.
The word Akhanda means 'unbroken', 'complete' and 'holistic'. Its heritage comes from the yogi sages of the Himalayas and offers many different complimentary practices of yoga all in one carefully-crafted 90-min class.
This style of yoga heals on a deep and profound level and this practice has been passed to her by her teacher Yogrishi Vishvaketu in Rishikesh, Northern India where she has spent several months at his ashram learning the depth and breadth of this beautifully balanced practice.
Akhanda yoga includes a theme to help you take the philosophy off the mat long after your class. Chinmayi will often makes suggestions of how you can integrate these practices into everyday life.
As well as posture work on all muscle groups and pose groups, Akhanda includes various additional breathing techniques, mantras, relaxation, pranayama and finishes with meditation. This class is 90 minutes to ensure that this yoga practice is complete and intentional
Regular practice gives profound results for you, your relationships and your world.
Chinmayi teaches private classes in the student's home and runs one-day workshops and annual yoga retreats to offer the opportunity for students to really embrace the wonderful benefits of the yoga lifestyle, on and off the mat.
Yoga and meditation are a science and Chinmayi not only teaches HOW to practice but WHY the practice balances health through the physical and psycho-spiritual methods passed down by the yogis and rishis through many generations.
Chinmayi has over 12 years experience of many different styles of traditional yoga.
She holds the title of Yoga Alliance's Experienced yoga teacher (EYT) Registered yoga teacher (RYT500) with 500hrs training in Rishikesh, India at Anand Prakash Ashram, an ITEC diploma in Anatomy and Physiology, Holistic Massage and over 20 other complementary therapies.
