Our Classes
The sessions have a strong focus on postural alignment and the use of yoga props such as belts, blocks, bricks, bolsters, yoga chairs, yoga blankets and wall ropes to help you achieve this. It is suitable for all abilities as the tutor is skilled at modifying postures for the individual.

The Tutor, Sharada Rao, holds two diplomas in Teacher Training.
BRITISH WHEEL OF YOGA &   IYENGAR YOGA CERTIFICATION
Sharada has over fifteen years experience of practising and teaching yoga and specializes in working with those living with fatigue, depression, stress, anxiety and insomnia. Her British Wheel of Yoga and Iyengar based approach to yoga helps clients manage their arthritic symptoms, control their blood pressure, ease chronic pain and increase their strength and flexibility- allowing them to get back to doing the activities they loved.
Welcome to my Yoga Sanctuary. A few years ago I, Sharada Rao, had a vision, a place of my own whereby I would be able to cater to the needs of my yoga students, and open the doors to this unique practice. Here people of all ages and backgrounds can come to learn this ancient practice which has so many benefits for health of mind and body. In times of stress people can learn simple techniques through yoga, meditation and breathing to help release tension and also increase their flexibility and strength.

Almost 2,000 years ago, Patanjali, the great Indian Sage suggested that the key to success in yoga is dedicated and uninterrupted practice over a long period of time. He offered us an instruction manual; practical steps to the art and science of living and evolving.

Founded in 2012

The official opening of the Yoga Sanctuary by the Mayor and Mayores of Rotherham took place in June 2012. The building was converted from an old disused garage into the present studio. The process took place over a period of six months and the result was the first purpose built centre in Rotherham that is dedicated to yoga.
